They will now play in the Southern League South and West for the 2016/17 season.
Prior to the reception, hundreds of proud Herefordians joined a parade to see Hereford F.C.’s open top bus trip though High Town.
Chair of the Council Councillor Brian Wilcox said
Hereford United fell, and some thought that fall was terminal; but then came its rising with the likes of John Hale (Chairman), Ken Kinnersley (Operations Director) and Peter Beadle (Manager) along with many others from all walks of life and a dedicated supporters club – with one common aim – to bring Edgar Street and Hereford football club back to life. It is almost a fairy tale what the club has achieved in its first season. I congratulate the club and wish Hereford F.C. every success for the future”
