Herefordshire businesses operating in the tourism and leisure industries could take advantage from the Business Enterprise Fund.
The Business Enterprise Fund has already awarded grants of £87,000 to tourism businesses located in Herefordshire and Shropshire, with a further £30,000 allocated to a further 8 businesses that are implementing projects ready for the new 2014 season.
Some of the projects that have been supported since the scheme began have included the creation of additional bedrooms in underused space within hotels, public houses and bed and breakfast establishments. The creation of camping pods at caravan and camping sites, improvements to campsites and the provision of additional self-catering units, all set to attract and retain visitors into the local area and boost the local economies.
Sue Gregory Owner of Greenway Touring and Glamping Park nr Craven Arms explained, “The grant has allowed us to create and install both the camping pods and shower facilities much quicker than our funds would have allowed. We are delighted that already guests are leaving excellent reviews on Trip Advisor”. Visit the website at www.greenwayshropshire.co.uk
