The future of the Buttermarket was considered by Herefordshire Council at the cabinet meeting on 19 September.
Recent interest from the City Council in the future ownership of the building has opened up an exciting opportunity for them, other interested parties or community led groups to become involved in shaping the future of the city.
In light of the interest shown councillors agreed to hold detailed discussions with the City Council and any other parties interested in the future running / ownership of the building.
Cllr Morgan, Cabinet Member Corporate and Assets said “This decision represents an exciting opportunity to begin negotiating with the City Council over the future or this important Hereford city landmark. The potential transfer will present new opportunities to enhance the changing retail landscape in Hereford.”
