Caroline Hoggart from Grasmere Close in Hereford attended Herefordshire Council’s Be Bright, Be Seen cycling event in Tupsley on Saturday 15 December, which provided numerous safety tips for cycling during the winter months.
Councillor Alexander Hempton-Smith, said: “I was delighted to attend such a worthwhile event in my area and help local people to stay safe when cycling in the winter. I am keen to encourage residents’ to consider different ways of travelling and cycling is a great way as it not only takes the stress out of travelling but also helps to ease congestion, save money and get healthier in the process. Whether you’re cycling to and from work or simply for fun, we have a number of fantastic cycling routes around the county.”
Caroline Hoggart, said: “I am absolutely over the moon to win an iPad and my family thoroughly enjoyed the event. We particularly liked meeting the friendly travel advisors and finding out about different travel options in Hereford.”
There have been a number of events held throughout 2012, which have helped residents consider the various options available for travelling around the county, including walking, cycling, public transport and car sharing and more are planned for 2013.
