A new band of stormy weather is affecting the county making driving conditions hazardous.
The main focus of the winter maintenance service is to make our main roads, where there are high volumes of traffic and traffic travelling at speed, safe for public use. Although we can’t grit all routes across the county, we have established priority gritting routes which take into account available budget and resource as well as the factors outlined above.
