Award-winning author to give talk at library

Award winning children's author and illustrator Ian Beck will be giving a talk on Edward Ardizzone - a life in pictures on Friday, February 24 at Leominster Library at 7.30pm.

The talk is to compliment the exhibition Edward Ardizzone Artist & Illustrator being held at Hereford Museum & Art Gallery until March 14, 2012.

Ardizzone (1900 to 1979) made his first book illustrations in 1929 and illustrated more than 180 books and contributed to many more during his career. He cemented his name and reputation by writing and illustrating the Little Tim stories. The first Little Tim and the Brave Sea Captain appeared in 1936 and the last Ship's Cook Ginger in 1977. All have remained in print.
